Jordanne Brown, age 14, recently participated in a four (4) day competition held at Fox Lea Farm in Venice Florida from July 28th to July 31st.
Her trainers were Shawn Russell and Natalie Johnson Russell, owners of Oakmore Equestrian, one of the top Hunter/Jumper/Equitation facilities in the Central Florida area.
Jordanne rode a mare called Pandora Z and together they made a good pairing, coming in with Clear Rounds (Blue Ribbons) in both .95m classes that they entered.
Jordanne also secured 3rd place in the Mini Prix Classic within the 1.0m class, and 4th in the Child/Adult Classic also set at 1.0m height
With just three days to work with Pandora Z before the competition started, Jordanne made a successful showing at this, her first US jumping competition. Her results and placement in the standings against more seasoned adult riders has demonstrated her proficiency as a young rider and has given her a tremendous boost in confidence as she prepares to compete in the final two legs of the regional Caribbean Equestrian Association Junior Jumping Competition to be held later this year in Jamaica and Trinidad
Apart from learning an incredible amount about herself as a young rider, this experience served to reinforce Jordanne’s passion for her sport and she looks forward to other opportunities to compete internationally and to continue to improve the quality of her riding.
We congratulate Jordanne on her achievements.
