Chloe Bain emerged the top rider in the USEF Training Level Test 3, winning the senior class aboard Romeo when the T&T Equestrian Association (TTEA) hosted its Dressage League two competition.
The Dressage, which is a highly skilled form of riding performed in exhibition and competition, as well as an “art” sometimes pursued solely for the sake of mastery, took place from July 9-12 and was held at three stables, Jericho, Saddle Valley and San Antonio, respectively.
As an equestrian sport defined by the International Equestrian Federation, dressage is described as “the highest expression of horse training” where “horse and rider are expected to perform from memory a series of predetermined movements.”
The combination certainly showed this to impress the judges as Bain enjoyed a comfortable win ahead of Andrea Leigh, who also rode Romeo as they continue their quest for points.
The Dressage competition included 16 riders and 12 horses and they competed in different classes from USEF Fourth Level Test 1 Senior to USDF Introductory Test A Junior.
In the junior class, Caitlyn Sebastien aboard Rafa was also impressive to narrowly win ahead of Charlotte Mack on Jelly Bean and in third was Myrisa Maundy on Viking Thunder with Sophia Samaroo, also aboard Viking Thunder in fourth place.
The other winners at the event were Jessica Pagee on Eye See Dee in the junior class of the USEF First Level Test one; in the USEF Training Level Test one junior class Safara Marshall aboard Miramis excelled and in the USDF Introductory Test, Mack on Baby Girl topped the “C” category while Elizabeth West on Zeus and Azaria Ramnath on Jelly Bean placed first in the “B” and “A” categories, respectively.
Dressage Delegate, Inga Serrette- Fletcher, was praised by the TTEA for ensuring the event ran smoothly and successfully. The association also recognised its volunteers, coaches, parents and stable owners for their assistance.
