On Sunday January 28th, we saw the start of the Trinidad and Tobago Equestrian Association’s competitive calendar.
The event was hosted by Saddle Valley Stables in Santa Cruz and it was an early start for the 19 riders who took to the ring. There were a variety of courses, designed by Anja Taylor and judged by Sara McCartney and Nicole Chatoor-Grainger.
Novice Class: Isabella Powell on Miramis was 1st, Katie Darlow on The Sultan was 2nd in the Novice class.
Maiden Class: In the hotly contested Maiden class we saw Chloe Bain and Eye See Dee take away 1st place in the Junior division followed by Zoe Rutherford on Majestic 7.
We also saw Natalie Rapier on Romeo take the top spot with Sandhya Moll receiving 2nd place with a little entertainment on Madame Bean (both in the Young Horses division).
Continuing in the Maiden class we moved on to the Senior division where Asha Bansee took away honours and Gabrielle Marhue was second, both riding Unbridled Dream.
In Advanced Beginner we saw Georgina Boos and Quiet Bid take the top spot, Jessica Pagee on Eye See Dee 2nd and Sianne d’Abreau was 3rd.
Lastly, we saw 2 riders in the Beginner class, Scarlett Selby was 1st and Seanna George was 2nd, both on Starlight.
The next event is booked for early March.
